Question: lintcode - (14) Binary Search
Binary search is a famous question in algorithm.
For a given sorted array (ascending order) and a target number, find the first index of this number in O(log n) time complexity.
If the target number does not exist in the array, return -1.
Example
If the array is [1, 2, 3, 3, 4, 5, 10], for given target 3, return 2.
Challenge
If the count of numbers is bigger than
MAXINT
, can your code work properly?

对于已排序升序数组,使用二分查找可满足复杂度要求,注意数组中可能有重复值。

源码分析:
start, end, mid
三个变量,注意mid的求值方法,可以防止两个整型值相加时溢出start + 1 < end
而不是start <= end
,start == end
时可能出现死循环。即循环终止条件是相邻或相交元素时推出。end = mid
有两个条件是相同的,可以选择写到一块。
